Welcome to Frequent Traveller TV, today again with a freshly pressed show for you here from the wonderful sunny north. And what topics do we have? At the request of viewers, we have the topic at Ryanair. There was an evacuation that raises questions, I would say. What also raises questions is the 700 from Hansens, when they will finally arrive. We also have other topics that we have prepared for you. And one of them is that a Swiss flight has to make an emergency landing again. Next, Airbus has to deliver many airplanes in 2025. 500 this year is in the middle. So here we can take a look at what happens. Then we continue with Arco All Stars, there is a promotion, but maybe one or the other can participate with luck. And Qatar Airways, Avios upgrades, triple devaluations, and again no advance notice. What's going on with you in Doha? What the fuck? But thankfully it's only about upgrades. But yes, bad, bad, bad. Remember to subscribe to the channel, turn on the bell, leave a like, and of course comment. Subscribe, turn on the bell, and let your opinion be known at school. The first topic is Ryanair. This is the incident that happened on the 5th. July. There was a false fire alarm in the cockpit on the Ryanair flight RK 3445. If I know what it is. This is Palma de Mallorca to Manchester. And here is what happened, there was an emergency evacuation due to the fire alarm. 18 injured, of which six are in the hospital. At least three passengers suffered fractures. One passenger has to be operated on multiple times because, of course, joints, heels, wrist joints, elbows, back, pelvis, and so on were affected. So no joke. The first point of criticism is that the emergency slides were only deployed on one side, specifically only on the left. What is happening here? Did someone think they had to set off fireworks? I just got scared, you. And the right side remained closed. Instead, emergency exits were only used over the wings. And secondly, it is such that with the 707 and thirty, when you evacuate over the surfaces of the 707 and thirty, the flaps are lowered there, so you slide down. I once did this evacuation with Austrian Airlines in the 707 and thirty. It was a very exciting story to slide down the flap, and it works wonderfully. However, there are mats down there, so it's not quite comparable to the hard asphalt, to be honest. And it is such that the checklist states that the flap position should be 40 degrees, meaning they should be fully extended, which facilitates the sliding down. The images indicate that these are not correctly positioned. The problems are, of course, that the height from which you jump is relatively high, and the risk of injury is therefore very great. And we notice that as well. There was chaos, panic on board, uncoordinated evacuation according to eyewitness accounts, so there were also more problems. He simply says, yes, there are only minor injuries, and by that, he means sprains. Just so you know what we are talking about and why the wing flaps apparently were not in the correct positions for a safe evacuation. Of course, there is no answer to that; you have to wait. What the investigation report says is that the evacuation apparently proceeded uncoordinated and not in accordance with regulations. But everything here is only from that perspective. And it is important that such things are never fun and that evacuation always carries the risk of injuries. So unfortunately, that is more normal than abnormal. Why it happened, I cannot tell you, but thank you again for the hint from the community that you are there. I don't even know, tell me, don't you have a home, friends? Yes, those are. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you, otherwise I would be politically incorrect again. Yes, so the end of the story is not pretty. Swiss had to cancel a flight with a 220 300. This is interesting because there was an unscheduled landing in Friedrichshafen. The Swiss with the registration HBJCA was flying from Belgrade to Zurich and had to be diverted on Monday morning. The cockpit warning and report of light smoke in the cabin. The emergency landing took place in Friedrichshafen. 115 passengers, four crew members, all remained uninjured. The aircraft was evacuated after landing. The passengers disembarked normally. The flights to Zurich were organized. Fire rescue services were on site. The cause is unfortunately still unclear, but investigations are underway, as there was a similar incident. And this is an incident that occurred in Graz during the smoke development. And there was the problem with the mask, where a crew member unfortunately passed away. And the Sust continues to search for reasons for the incident. The Sust is the accident authority in Schwyz. Again a smoke problem with the Airbus A. Safety systems just work. Warning and diversion. The renewed discussion is about the maintenance and safety of the AER at Swiss. And I find it strange that it is now being said again that something is wrong at Swiss, it's just bad luck. So this is not something for which Swiss can be blamed. I do not believe that Swiss is cutting corners with maintenance. Who has been cutting corners at Allegris, and you know what I'm talking about, is Hansens. And it is such that fewer aircraft are expected in 2025 because there are approval problems. The delay at the FAA is such that they are of course looking at what the problem is with the seat anchorage and demanding stricter crash tests on the cabin floor, one must check that nothing happens there. The first delivery is expected to be no earlier than September 2025 and not in the summer. The fleet imbalances can only be alleviated after the summer flight schedule of Lufthansa. As a transitional solution, they still want to operate them, which are still incomplete in terms of approval. Part of the business class will remain blocked and not bookable. Originally, the deployment was planned for long-haul flights, on shorter ones. For 2025, they initially expect four to five deliveries in the summer plus one more by the end of the year. So, not just one of his several. Currently, 15 in Lufthansa livery are waiting in the USA for transfer, and they are desperately needed in Frankfurt. The issue with the approval is a huge problem in fleet modernization, and one would still like to start with the cabin restrictions. And I have to honestly say that it is a bitter balance for Lufthansa because Allegris started planning in 2027, even 13 started with the beginning of planning. 2017 the official announcement, 2024 first scheduled flights, but without First Class. In July, there are only nine aircraft with Allegris, which is under 10%, not a single one in Frankfurt, 15 months after the start still no widespread product, and in summer the future prospects are difficult if the aircraft do not arrive. The 787 will probably only be meaningfully deployable on long-haul routes in 2026. And yes, who is supposed to have them? The Triple Seven, yes, but when will that come? Summer flight schedule 2027 or so? No idea, one does not know exactly. And that would be 10 years after the announcement, and the cabin design is already conceptually outdated today because it has remained unchanged for seven years. So I don't find that very funny now. So one really has to continue operating and using the 47 and has to push forward with that and retrofit them with Allegris, and future fleet planning should really be done smarter. Get the 350 or the 300 Three-Engine early from Austria because they are also affected by the 787. So that also needs to be known; it's an issue for Austria as well. And it's a shame for the crews, but also especially for us, the passengers flying from Frankfurt, that we have a. Yes, a substandard product. But I think in Frankfurt they have learned. I am curious. What do you think? Has Frankfurt learned, yes or no? I am optimistic. And yes, Airbus still has to deliver over 500 aircraft by 2025, after they said they wanted to push forward with the numbers. And in the first half of 2025, about 300 aircraft were delivered. And alone in June there were around 60 deliveries. The goal of 820 deliveries is still far away. Over 520 airplanes must be delivered in the second half of the year. But the Leap A engines, for example, are a delay. This means that the engines are the main problem with the supply chain. Other supply chain disruptions also lead to the backlog of aircraft. These are airplanes that are called gliders because they have no engines; they can only glide. And the Neo program is particularly affected. Airbus is in the ramp-up of production. They want to achieve 75 a month by 2027. That is quite a number. Geupfert said that the goal has become a bit more challenging despite the current situation, and the four-digit annual production is theoretically already possible if there are no supply chain issues. So, if wishes were horses. And the supply chain issues are indeed the main problem. Many of us have the main problem of having no status, but you can use the status fast track at All live Limited. With 15 bonus nights for the stays. So up to December 31, 2025. Here comes the police, that's an ambulance, I don't know. And something is happening here. It is such that the employees of the Development Bank in Singapore, DBS, or the Insurance Australia Group IAG, receive this for the stays. Registration is possible via the special offer page. Booking must, this is very important, be done through the corporate rates. Only valid for classic silver and gold. Platinum, diamond limitless members are excluded.
This means bonus nights:classic five nights, silver ten nights. Normally, you reach gold only after thirty nights and nice gold after sixty nights. With 15 nights, that's great, and silver after thirty nights. So, it's already a cool offer. For all offers, it generally applies that it is only valid when booking an existing corporate status framework. So, whoever has access or knows someone, you know what I mean. Arccor is specifically targeting corporate customers with these status bonuses and should check if there might be other work available. There is. What is now a problem is Qatar Airways. Qatar Airways is changing the points and the conditions of the program, yes, like other people apparently change their underwear. And the thing is, they have changed three times within a year. Three times. And the problem is not only the change, but also the lack, not to say absence, of communication. In summer 2024, the 5% discount for Platinum members was removed, then in autumn 2024, a 15 to 30% devaluation for everyone, depending on the booking channel. And the latest change is different prices depending on the redemption method. Regularly online at the airport, 30 to 40% Avios are needed. Problems with online upgrades are hardly available, so one is reliant on the expensive airport options. The result is effectively that costs have doubled compared to the beginning of 2024. To take a look at a route that I have also flown often, Los Angeles to Doha is 50% more expensive. The issue is that there is no transparency here and the negative impacts have been introduced so nonchalantly, without really saying, hey, we are changing something. And communication with members remains inadequate. Kataeris apparently has not learned the lesson about customer information and probably does not care about us. Repeatedly announced devaluations are already bad enough, but when they are unannounced, it is an even greater loss of trust. And for everyone who has collected Avios with, yes, I say it, American Express, it is even worse. American credit cards as a keyword. The recommendation is of course, always share them when you notice such devaluations, so we can report them. I thank you for being with us again today on frequent traveler TV and remember to subscribe to the channel, turn on the bell, leave a like, and of course also until the next show. So thank you, see you then, bye, bye. And think of the credit cards. Americans make them. See you then, bye.
